Because I'm lazy. [Background]
It's certainly safe to assume that Shihouin Yoruichi was born several centuries ago; while we don't know the date of her birth, we do know that she's certainly no spring chicken. She was born into the prestigious Shihouin family, which was one of Soul Society's four noble families; as such, she certainly led a rather comfortable life. She certainly didn't let her family's status go to her head, though, and refused to become snobbish and haughty. She was a talented Shinigami, and, as such, she quickly managed to rise through the ranks. As few as a hundred years prior to the current time line in Bleach, Yoruichi was actually the head of her household--the first woman to hold that position--, the captain of the 2nd Division of the Gotei 13, and the head of the Special Forces Division of the Gotei 13. She was obviously an important person, okay. During her time in Soul Society, she took a young girl, Soi Fong--a member of a minor house whose soul duty seemed to be to serve the Shihouin household--in under her wing, becoming both her friend and her idol; she also met a young Kuchiki Byakuya, teasing him quite a bit and never missing a chance to show off her superior shunpo techniques, much to Byakuya’s chagrin. However, her closest friend during this entire period was most definitely Urahara Kisuke; having known each other since childhood, the two played every day as children in a secret underground chamber that Kisuke built for the two of them. He also served under her in the 2nd Division until she recommended him to be the next captain of the 12th Division.
Everything was going wonderfully... until a certain someone revealed his true motives, and Kisuke was blamed for all of his wrongdoings. Basically, Aizen, being the total douche that he is, decided to try and transform his colleagues--fellow vice-captains and captains--into Hollows; he actually succeeded, to a degree, and several people were successfully transformed... but not before Kisuke figured out what he was doing, and not before he tried to stop him. Aizen, proving his superiority once more, turned everything around to make it look as if Kisuke had been the one who had orchestrated the transformation of his colleagues. Because of this, Kisuke was banished to live on earth for the rest of his days, stripped of his high-ranking position, and the people who were affected by Aizen's deeds--the ones he had transformed--were ordered to be killed. Yoruichi, however, was certainly not about to take that; after successfully breaking into Central 46 Chambers, she carried both Kisuke and Tessai to a safe location, where she had already taken the eight transformed shinigami. After revealing that she was fully aware of what he had been trying to do, and after chastising him for not asking for her help earlier, she allowed he and the others to escape to earth, where he pledged to find a way to reverse what Aizen had done.
An unknown period of time later, Yoruichi followed, abandoning everything--her family, her division, her closest friend--in order to help him.
Kisuke and Yoruichi managed to lay low for the next hundred years in the human world; Kisuke opened a shop and apparently managed to settle in quite nicely. Yoruichi lived with Kisuke while he operated his store, although she constantly ran off for long periods of time without telling him, popping back up, unannounced, whenever she felt like it. Just like a cat, huh?
She actually first appears in the manga once Ichigo, Orihime, Ishida, and Sado needed to go to Soul Society in order to save Rukia, who had been taken back to Soul Society in order to be executed; taking an interest in the collection of talented young people, she agreed to train both Orihime and Chad while Ichigo was trained by Kisuke himself. She remained in her cat form the entire time, which is, I suppose, a testament to just how talented she truly is.
After the training was complete, she accompanied Ichigo and company into Soul Society after Kisuke opened the gate; despite a, um, rather close call, they managed to reach Soul Society relatively unscathed. However, getting inside the Sereitei was an entirely different story; despite the fact that Ichigo had beaten the gatekeeper, Ichimaru Gin appeared and denied them entrance, forcing them to think of another way to enter. Yoruichi then led everyone to the house of Shiba Kuukakau, an old friend, who devised an ingenious way to get within Sereitei's walls. However, once arriving inside, the crew was split up; Yoruichi kept tabs on everyone, although she didn't step in to help anyone until Ichigo, after winning a fight against Captain Zaraki, collapsed. She then carried him to a safe location to allow him to heal, revealing her true form to him in the process, enjoying his amusing reaction to seeing her naked body.
Ichigo is a certified idiot, though, and so off he ran just as soon as he could; he then encountered Kuchiki Byakuya, and he was just about to fight him until Yoruichi made an appearance. After injecting a sedative directly into Ichigo's wound via the good ol' "PUNCH TO THE STOMACH" method, she carried him off. While he directed all of his teenage rage at her, she calmly explained to him that he was not prepared to fight Byakuya, and she then proceeded to try to help him learn his Bankai--the final release of his Zanpakutou--through a method that Kisuke had developed.
After Ichigo finally learned and mastered his Bankai, Yoruichi led him to the execution spot to try and save Rukia. She, however, was forced to battle her old friend, Soi Fong; despite the fact that she had avoided battle for a hundred years or so, and although the battle was extremely close, she managed to beat her. It was then that Soi Fong revealed the hurt and sadness she had kept bottled up for so many years, and it was then that Yoruichi realized just how deeply she had hurt her.
Soi Fong then worked with Yoruichi in order to try and subdue Aizen, the traitorous douche who had orchestrated everything; however, he and his minions managed to escape, and Yoruchi headed back to the human world. She and Kisuke did step in to help their students one more time, though; when Arrancar--Ulquiorra and Yammy, to be specific--threaten the lives Orihime and Ichigo, the dream team manages to scare them off. Yammy severely underestimated Yoruichi, who managed to beat him with relative ease; she did, however, suffer minor injuries from his tough skin, proving that she had underestimate him, as well.
After that, we don't really see Yoruichi or Kisuke doing much of, well... anything. However, it's safe to assume that they are keeping an eye on Ichigo and his friends, just as they always do.
[Personality]
Yoruichi is an interesting individual, to be sure. She's quite the fun-loving person, and she truly loves to have fun; teasing people is her game of choice, and she's actually quite good at it. However, she enjoys teasing certain people more than others; if you're the type of person to be easily offended, for instance, or if you can't take any sort of teasing at all, then she will definitely try to tease you more than anyone else. People's reactions are also something she likes to see. To be quite honest, Yoruichi will pepper even the most mundane bits of conversation with controversial little tidbits just to see how someone will act.
She's a warm, friendly, and open person, to be sure, but only if she thinks you're worthy. Yoruichi is a perceptive person, and she had a particular knack for telling the jerks from the good guys. She has her slip-ups, just as everyone does, but, for the most part, she can tell a lot about who you are from the way you act. She won't call you out on it, of course, because, despite being a predominately friendly person, Yoruichi also enjoys keeping silent from time to time. As long as you aren't threatening her or the people she cares about, she won't give you a second thought.
Being incredibly blunt is also another talent that she possesses. She's certainly not the person you'd go to to in order to hear what you want to hear; she'll always tell you what she thinks, whether you like it or not. Once again, it all goes back to seeing the different reactions she gets.
Yoruichi also does not know the meaning of the word "shame". She'll prance about naked with not a care in the world, and she'll reveal the most intimate of details of her personal life, just to make you squirm; it's all good, guys.
However, when Yoruichi is in her cat form, her personality changes slightly. She becomes more... matter-of-fact, and she becomes more willing to reveal her impressive intelligence and cunning; her patience also seems to shorten while she's in this form, and she showcases an extremely dry sense of humor. I mean, she's still Yoruichi, but she's slightly different. The whole deal with the super-deep voice usually makes people think that she's a completely different person.
[Specialties/Abilities]
Yoruichi definitely isn't someone you want to mess with. She's obviously an immensely powerful shinigami; I mean, you don't become captain of a division in the Gotei 13 by being a worthless bum. Her kido abilities are more than likely up to par, and while we know she has a Zanpakutou--it's been shown in a few promotional images here and there--we don't know its name or the form it takes. She doesn't really need to use her Zanpakutou, which shows... just how powerful she really is.
Her most famous move would have to be her proficient use of Shunpo, or "flash steps"; basically, Yoruichi can move very, very quickly. She earned the title "Goddess of Flash" because of her unrivaled speed; the woman can move so fast that she appears to be in several places at once, and practically no one can keep up with her.
She can also transform into a black cat at will. Whenever she does so, though, she loses her normal voice and gains a really, really deep voice. I THINK IT SOUNDS LIKE A SMOKER'S VOICE LMFAO. People then think that she's male, but it doesn't bother her at all; if anything, she enjoys it, especially when she transforms right in front of them.
[Affection]
Yoruichi... isn't a shy person, and hell yes she'll parade around naked, but... she has no interest in gettin' with anyone. I mean, nicknames come standard; she's just a teasing bitch, so get used to it. :D I guess if she knows you well enough, a pat on the back/friendly hug will be okay. When she's in cat form, she'd really rather you not pet her, but she'll make exceptions for like... kids and stuff.
[Fighting]
She will kick your ass, lmfao, and look amazing doing it. HOWEVER, she only fights when people she cares for are threatened, or when there's a real need; if you're one of those losers who pick fights or whatever, she's probably just going to be all, "...PFFFFFFFFT NO." If there's a reason to, we can, you know, discuss it or something....
