Another year older, not much wiser

Apr 28, 2010 18:16

I never meant to stop posting on here, but about a year ago, I was going through a bit of stress (can't now remember what it was about, but I think J was unwell again) and when I'm unhappy, I tend to avoid blogging because once I write down the negativity it seems more real. So I avoided it for a while, and then I didn't exactly avoid it but I didn ( Read more... )

Good to hear from you. Sorry things have been difficult and I hope life gets easier. I sympathize about the elderly relatives.

Take care.

Ah, it could be a lot worse! J and I are still employed, unlike a lot of people we know, and doing not so badly.

The elderly relatives are on the mend - my grandmother has been non-specifically unwell, but is recovering (and she's two weeks from her 88th birthday, so we're not expecting her to run any marathons). My great-aunt broke her hip, but is also mending fairly well... and frankly it's quite convenient that she's hospitalised at the moment since she is extremely confused and forgetful, and we were trying to find a tactful way to tell her that her sheltered housing place says she can't live alone any more...

All of which is really more my mother's problem, but I wish I could do more to help (but can't think what, really).

Yes, good to hear from you indeed! Sorry about the piggies, and my condolences for J's grandfather. Congrats on turning 30!

Turning 30 was a bit odd, but not as bad as turning 29 - my mother was 29 when she had me, and I'd always had it pegged as the age at which you have to be a responsible adult...

Yeah, right!

It's good to hear from you. I've been in and out of hibernation. Rearing my head occasionally to post my outrage at something I've read online. I'm sorry to hear about the guinea pigs and I'm glad they're recovering.

I have been wondering how you were doing... hibernation's pretty much what I've been doing too. What a winter.

I've wondered where/how you've been. Happy Birthday! And let me tell you, the thirties are SO MUCH BETTER than the twenties. I promise.

The birthday was way back in September, so I have sort of recovered. J will be turning 30 in two weeks, and does NOT know what he wants to do to celebrate. He doesn't take birthdays well, poor boy.

I quite enjoyed much of my twenties... maybe not the last couple of years so much.

Hope you're doing OK - I've been thinking about you!

I really enjoyed my twenties quite a lot myself, but so far the thirties have been pretty damned good as well. Of course, now that I'm halfway through them I'm starting to dread the next decade.

I'm still posting to the other blog as well... And I have a Twitter, but I've never really got to grips with it.
