A lot of things have changed around here since I last wrote a journal entry.
We still live in the same house (despite having planned to move sometime before the Peanut's birth). We are still married; we still have guinea pigs; I still knit a lot and watch Doctor WhoHowever, since January 2012 we have packed in a good few of those Big Life Events.

I find that writing about my days does give things a little structure (plus it massively helps me and my aging memory). Makes it feel like my life has more of a narrative flow, rather than just a succession of days, So I hope it helps you, too!

It sounds as though you've been going through some interesting times yourself...
By the way, was it you who put me on to the Dresden Files novels? I started reading them about a year ago and have now worked through the lot of them, but I can't quite pin down where I originally heard about them (they're not that well-known over here).

I, too, find that I need some sort of journaling to remember ANY milestones. I will often frontload my LJ entries with disclaimers and apologies for droning on about child development things, but have found most people are either extremely polite, or interested enough to have conversations about kid-related topics.
