Tis indeed sad news, mate. I hear you very clearly. And appropriately. There'll not be the kind of hullabaloo we'll see over others as they pass, but I am sure that the feelings of you and people like you will be even more important to Nick, his family, and those whose lives he impacted.

Shit mate.
It is a sad thing when someone who has had such an obvious impact on you is not going to be around to have the same impact on others. I don't know what else to say.

I share you exact sentiment having taken a flight with Nick for my 30th Birthday last year. He also flew us up from Bankstown to Bathurst and back so we spent alot of time enjoying all of Nicks humour. I couldn't stop thinking about it for days and I still can’t really understand how it affected me and distracts me. I think it because it is as though you have been there - except right up until the landing and sharing the experience with your family/friends. I guess there is some solace in the fact that he was able to have such a strong effect on the people's lives he touched, however brief it was. It still saddens me that others won't be able to share that expereince but it is comforting to know that there are people out there in the world just like Nick, with an enthusiasm for what they do and a genuine ability to connect with anyone.

Sounds like Nick Costin was a nice guy, shame his company/family is dishonouring his memory by refusing to refund prepaid flights... that cost me $2k! Really nice!
