Dreaming for fun and prophecy

Sep 04, 2003 15:29

This morning I had some absurdly detailed and vivid dreams. Sometimes my dreams turn out to be prophetic. Of course, you can slice up the phone book and toss the pieces with some shredded New York Times, and sometimes that will turn out to be prophetic. But just in case, I record these dreams here, so remember where you heard it first.

So he wants to give us all the plague. Well, that's a hell of a howdy-do. Why haven't we killed this fucker yet? We managed to bomb the Kabul Red Cross twice. Seriously, I live at pretty much Ground Zero of a likely Al Qaeda attack, and if I joke about it, please take it not as mere flippancy, but as gallows humor. I suspect the genocidal son of a bitches might get me.

I, on the other hand, live in a city that's beneath anyone's concern. I'm moving to Edinburgh soon, though. Uh oh!

But seriously. There have been, what, about four successful terrorist attacks against the United States in the last decade? And half of them had lower casualty rates than when some Insane Clown Posse fan takes an AK to school.

These people aren't exactly famous for their competence. Everyone seems to think that just because they managed a big one a couple of years ago they're suddenly more likely to nuke the place. I don't see how that follows. It's less likely, if anything.

Or maybe terrorists will blow up Philadelphia and Austin one week from today, on the 2nd anniversary of the 9-11 attacks, but I'd really rather they didn't.

I think you're overlooking the obvious - terrorists have set their aim on Jerry Lewis!

God bless them for it too. If that fucker gets any larger, there's going to be time dilation issues.
