I found out, after talking to my ISP, that the modem I had purchased with my cable/internet/phone package was actually for the phone itself. That was the main reason why my earlier attempts had failed. I had that modem downstairs and a router upstairs for my cpu. The rep told me that if I wanted to do any online gaming, I would have to get a 'cable

I don't play on XBOX Live...those guys are way too good.

I'd rather pack up my XBOX and take it to a party somewhere, or set up a game night with my friends...

I thought we were done with that when pc's came out and everybody stopped going to the Arcade.

That is the one area where the Wii will win out over the XBOX 360 and PS3...the Wii is designed for home fun with a group of players...

I agree. But when he is still in ATL and Im in NoVA. This is a good way to keep in touch and still bet on each other.

You both are right. It would be cool just to be able to play through a service you are ALREADY paying for, instead of it being through another party. Sega was ahead of it's time back in '93-'94 when they had an accessory for the genesis that let you use your phone line to play other people. You could just call them up and start gaming for free.

Due to router/modem issues, I'm currently not playing online yet. But once I FINALLY get onto Xbox Live, I'll be playing Soul Caliber 4, Gears of War 1 & 2, and maybe some Crackdowm. The First two games, I've played. The last two, I'll start playing next week sometime.
