WoW! Listening to Groove Theory is so relaxing! I don't know if it's Amel's soft and strong vocals, or just the overall feel of the album. Either way, I am glad tat I got a hold of this gem abck when it came out, and have been following Amel's music ever since. It's hard to find natural talents like that now. I love it when fans follow what they like.
You know that moment when you listen to a group and like one element of it and follow that element no matter where it goes because it is that good and solid. Example, you listen to Group X and really like the music, they break up and the producer goes to Group Y so you start listening to Group Y because you like the producer so much. Heck, you may not even realize it was that same producer but something draws you to it and later you find out it was that producer. Or a singer leaves and you find another group that reminds you of them and start listening only discover it is that singer. When you find good music its good no matter the name change or record label ups and downs.

My only problem, mainly, is when natural singers get transformed into programmed voice boxes. When you listen to the "new and improved" them, their music sounds lifeless and without ANY feeling behind it. That's what I like about alot of artists who don't get that Big Break, for they sing for the love of music and want to share it. The pre Corporately-Altered stuff makes up for alot of the best music out there.

Yeah those damn auto-tuned and studio polished bastards.
I hate when an artist is so processed that when you hear or see them live you dont even recognize them and it horrible.
Oddly enough, I saw a reggae/fusion band once at a club, very nice. I bought their cd and it was crap. They killed it in the studio with their fancy gadgets.
