when you spend so much of your waking life in a bookstore, you forget that there are people who actually can't read. and they all go book shopping this week. i will love my life so much more when i don't have to listen to sarah mclachlan (who i normally have a weird fascination with) butcher a john lennon christmas song

I don't think the US is going to require a passport to get back in if you are driving for a while still (I think it is early '08 that restriction will be applied). Of course, cannot speak for the Canada side of the equation.

Don't get too excited, this is just if you drive to Canada (and maybe take a boat, but who would do that?). Flying will require one early next year. You can probably find the details online somewhere if needed.

i needed to get a new passport anyway, mine expired when i was either 17 or 18
