Art: Annexation [Rogues Big Bang]
This is the collection of art done for useless19's fic, "Annexation" for roguesbang's Rogues Big Bang 2013 challenge.
I admit to being too ambitious while planning art for this fic, which basically boiled down to "too many ideas, too little time, and too much procrastination". *laughs* Nevertheless, I had great fun making them and got to try out some ideas I had churning in my head! Useless has been very patient and understanding with my sudden bouts of silence, thank you very much for putting up with me. :')

Initially, I toyed with the idea of drawing Len, Mark and Axel lounging around the car with an empty road and trees in the background. It didn't take me long to figure out that the composition I had in mind was not viable for what I wanted to achieve. After some thought and brainstorming, I decided to go on a more abstract route, and that immediately opened me up to more ideas for several smaller pieces for scenes throughout the fic, which could be seen below.
The car that Axel supplied wasn't specifically mentioned past a "battered green Chevy", so I did some googling. (Bless my good friend for putting up with me tossing her random Chevrolet information for several hours non-stop.) In the end, it was a toss up between the 1997 Malibu and 1993 Cavalier and I chose the latter for I felt it fit Len's "grumpy old man" better.
The void which sucked Mark in.

The battle between Mark and Thad. This one is more obviously sketchy than the others, as this was the last piece I did and was done in a bit of a rush.
This was the second scene I felt compelled to make and I pitched the idea to my author of having an image in place of the text which should have been the end of Annexation. It read:
"Dropped through the tacky metal lampshade in Mark's apartment:
Retired. Idiot."
