In less than 2 hours I'm officially on maternity leave for 52 weeks... I'm really anxious about being gone from work for that long, but I can honsetly say I have done everything in my power to make sure they are prepared while I'm gone... still not making it any easier ( Read more... )

So he got his transfer to the heart specialist at 6am this morning and was sent by ambulance... they put him out and did an angiogram, angioplasty and then inserted a stint to keep the blocked area open... excuse the spellings if they are wrong. My FIL had a heart attack last night... it's his second major attack in 4 years... last time he had a quadruple bypass, etc. So far all we know is he is ICU in the local hospital and is waiting for a bed and transfer to see a specialist in Victoria but is at the moment stable... the worst part is they live 15 hours drive away... and with the baby ( Read more... )

As of today I only have 5 days left of work... and 17 days (or less) until baby makes an appearance. I'm down to 3 projects at work... 2 of which are really small easy ones and one is a major undertaking, but I should still be able to get them all done. I am no longer working at my normal desk at work... and I have to admit I'm really liking it... I'm liking a more supervisory role... and being able to say this is the info I want to give you, now figure it out and let me know if you need more help. So I went for my check up today... I'm 36w 5d... the baby did a big growth jump and I'm now measuring 38 almost 39... but she did an internal and I'm not dilated yet and the head is down but now far enough yet so that was all good news. She is estimating the baby at about 6.5lbs and at the average growth weight of .5lbs per week the baby will end ( Read more... )

Quick update... I'm huge as a fucking house... I'm swollen like a whale... and generally just cranky and tired... I'm 35 weeks today. But the baby is really active and healthy, I have another appointment on Tuesday and they are going to check on the weight... they think it's a big one this time ( Read more... )

Today is the first day of the rest of my work life... certain someone's are not returning as of 4:30pm yesterday... isn't retirement GREAT!

Today I am feeling exceptionally unappreciated... and mostly unloved... and insignificant...

I spent most of the night crying... I'm so freaking angry, hurt, pissed... I can hardly think. Work just stabbed me in the back and is expecting me to be ecstatic about it...
