we successfully explored manhattan, brooklyn and stepped inside the bronx briefly to visit the zoo and get the hell out before darkness fell. i've never felt more at home than i felt in brooklyn and the villages of manhattan. maybe the best experience we had was meeting esther's friend, jenny, in the lower east side and staying out on the streets
