well, gee, now i don't know. i mean, the nissan pathfinder is a behemoth of a beauty - a real head turner, but then i find out about the ford escape, which has a similarly rugged body but gets 24 miles per gallon and is available in the 2008 luxury model with under 10 thousand miles for the same price as the mid-range pathfinder i was eying before

i think you're right. the pathfinder averages 17 miles per gallon according to what i've read, which isn't bad for a midsize SUV. i'm sold!
