A long time ago, I saw a picture that was a strobe shadowgraph of a handgun being fired. The compresion waves from the shot were clearly visible and the bullet was only a short distance from the end of the barrel. You could also see the compresion gases venting out of holes on top of the barrel to keep the recoil from lifting it. I'm not sure,

Nah, I found those while I was looking for it. It was a much higher quality photo than those. Thanks for trying though.
