I would assume it has to do with some sort of TV schedualing or sindication issue, or that they are going to be mini episodes like with the BSG razor thing. Although, that was on TV as well. Maybe they are testing for fan response to see if another go at a follow-up is worth while for them.

You can't interfere with the scheduling of such quality programming as Nuclear Goat, pro wrestling and Stargate SG-1 reruns...

Also, let's not forget Farscape is pretty frelling expensive for TV shows (though well worth it to ME and you, not so much to Sci-Fi who didn't get the big buck returns they needed to off of it).

Webisodes are teh New Hot Thing which EVERYONE loves to have. Digital content for the website? Hellz yes! says Sci-Fi. The smaller format allows for more artistic/creative experimentation, and when given the option of "Either this or stuff it in your pipe and smoke it," they said, "We'll do it."

If it gets attention, it'll lead to more material. It's like a pilot episode to a new tv show, only in smaller, cooler doses.
