Yeah, I guess 5 isn't an uncommon experience at all. It wasn't comics for me; I never quite fell hard enough to get my heart broken. The DCU is on the list, though.
You got two right; 6 is SGA, my current True Love, and 1 is LoTR. The "new clothes" were the movies, which taught me how to love Middle-Earth again. The movie trilogy was such a fannish endeavor, so meticulous and passionate; I love watching the documentaries on the DVDs almost as much as the movies themselves.

Right on all counts! You didn't sneak a look at the answers, did you? ;)
Out of the zillion fandoms I've known and loved, I picked six I'd read fic or meta in recently. I'd just gone on a Highlander binge after reading killabeez's Darkest Hour, so it was on my mind, though HL hasn't been a major fandom of mine in years.
Due South's "messy past" was the Ray Wars. I probably wouldn't have fallen so hard if the fandom had still been psycho when I wandered in, but by then things were settling down and people were starting to relax and swing both Rays.
I'm more a fan of comics fans than I am of the comics themselves, I think. The fan writers respect the characters more.
"Too much pink" refers to Lana, of course; she wasn't the only thing wrong with Smallville, but she was a big part of it. The real dealbreaker for me, though, was losing any vestige of faith that Al & Miles knew what they were doing with the mytharc - Clark and Lex becoming their iconic selves.

LOL! There were answers?
I've only vaguely heard about the Ray Wars. I watched DS when it was on (and I taped the third season, which was only on in the middle of the night here), and I have the DVD's now, but I was never really all that fannish about it.

5 I'm torn, because it could be so many, but I'm going to go with comics and think that 6 is SGA.
