trash cash

Let me pose a hypothetical question: Say you were out for a walk, and you went to throw something away in a trash can. As you do, you glance in, and you catch sight of a crumpled-up dollar bill in the trash. Upon examining it for a few moments, you see that it looks to be in pretty good shape. Was it a house's rubbish bin or just one on the street? Because my initial thought wasn't whether it was dirty or not (although I do have mild germ OCD!) It was whether it was much money or not. If it had been a lot of money and it had been in a house bin I would have had to tell the owners. But for a dollar I'd take it if it was clean. If it was dirty then that would be different.

someone was probably drinking something like a soda and due to the condensation the dollar bill may have stuck to the outside edge of the cup and they tossed it aside accidentally as it was change from a five dollar bill or something and rather than put down the drink and place the money as the should have simply compressed it against the outside of their soda cup.

It's usually a trap. You spend a moment making sure it doesn't have gum or worse stuck to it, you reach in to pick it up, and then BOOM! A midget comes out of nowhere and hits you in the back of the knee with a baseball bat!
