Hey everyone! I was in a car accident this morning! I am okay, though. No one got hurt, though. I bruised my knee but that is the extent of the damage. So, hard to believe, but my month in Shimane will be over and done with in 6 days. 5, really. I have absolutely LOVED my time here. The town--though teeny--is wonderful and my host family has been great about taking me out and showing me the interesting places around here. The school visits have been a blast. So I went to this place called Vogel Park today and it was awesome! Some of the most beautiful flowers hanging from the ceiling, in pots all around you, below you, above you. It was crazy! Also awesome birdies!!! I got grapes and a bunch of tropical birds like toucans came and stood on my arm! If I could get my pictures online, I'd show you! ( Read more... )

I just lost a really good entry that I had written for the second time by hitting a key or something so I am pissed and not writing it again!!!! Basically--I like Shimane prefecture. It's relaxing and I love visiting the local elementary schools.

I feel so bad for the people in Nigata prefecture. First they have these huge earthquakes that kill so many people, ruin homes, break up families, and now they are getting covered in meters and meters of snow. A public bath's roof caved in from all the snow and killed two people a little while ago. It's like nature decided to attack Nigata-ken

Man. I have spent the past two hours writing less than two pages of my paper. Talk about not being able to focus...on the other hand, I've only got 5 more pages to go, minimum (although, really, I still have a lot more to say). Hope tomorrow is more productive.

On the up and up, I realized today how emotionally and mentally stable I really am.

I have spent the past two nights watching Season 3 until 3:00 am--but last night my sister was with me :) She even waited for me to finish my Japanese studying before she started it--that made me smile.
