Wow,I can't beleive I didn't write that myself, completely true. I've never really fit a stereotype, and I love it. I mean, sure, occasionally there will be something "mainstream" that I think is cute, but I won't buy it just for the label..or for the "rank" of coolness some people think it automatically associates them with.
Very true statements. In the end, everyone should just be who they are,and not care what anyone thinks,it's the best way to be,I should know, heh.

I don't want to get off on a rant here, but... maddst March 24 2005, 14:05:44 UTC
I think the extended metaphore comparing American capitalitalism to Nazi Germany is contrived at best and mostly moronic at best. Also, the author has the advantage of being older than most of the people s/he is targeting, and thus is kinda like picking on a retarded kid.

So, it's not necessarily the IMAGES that are to blame because style is style, including the "OMG like I totally don't fit into a catagory because I'm so *uNiQuE*", which aren't even original to being with. I would even argue that it's more of a socioeconomic thing, where people were A&F, American Eagle, Structure, Banana Republic, Gucci, Armani, whatever to make themselves feel better than other people.

Like this rant above, yeah? This whole rant about "preps" and then the wider rant about everyone who is under 22 is really just a bunch of SAT vocabulary words strung together to make the author feel better for not being a 13 year old kid.

But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

i see his/her point, but if he/she doesn't like it, they don't have to buy it.
