Kit's heart is fucking pounding under Will's slender fingers spread across his heaving chest. He's used to Kit's bar fights by now, but this one had involved knives and Kit's eyebrow is split and his teeth are pink from the tide of blood from his mouth, stomach, fuck knows where.

Will's practically holding him up now but it's not difficult because Kit is tiny and when he's only half with it like this, his vulnerability is fucking shining out of him and Will loves him even more.

He prays they're not found, he's not ready to lose this tempest, not yet.

Kit shivers in the shirt he slept in, the theatres have closed so Will is going home for a while and Kit, having been so desperate to see the man before he disappears forgot to properly dress.

He sighs as the hired carriage turns a corner after a hurried goodbye and he loses sight of his best friend. Another year has gone without Kit opening his mouth and just telling him.

He returns to bed and cries into the cuffs of the shirt he slept it.
