Today, instead of venturing out after work I decided to stay at home to spend some well needed quality time with my dad.

My dad watched the rugby, got drunk and went to sleep at 8pm.

A wasted night, indeed.

Yesterday I received a phone call to tell me that a girl from my year in school had been killed.

Pamela was one of the loveliest, most caring people I have ever met and the news of her death has left me deeply shocked and saddened.

It's so hard to believe that someone could do that to such a strong, vivacious, young woman.
