Kiki had been thinking about what
Wilson and
Yazoo had told her all day - about the angel that had been sliding, and Aziraphale's mission to save him, how Aziraphale had to fool his friends to fool his enemies, and Wilson running scared in the city, hiding and hunted, and all the damge to the friendships and trust that they'd shared with so many.

Wilson's almost pathological aversion to flying meant that he hadn't even attempted to sleep on the plane and his adrenaline was so high, it was unlikely he was going to sleep at home any time soon. It also meant that his mouth was going a mile a minute as he opened the doors to the Brownstone, holding them for Phale to walk through with their bags.
"Really, I could have carried my bag, you should have let me carry my bag, it's not fair that you had to carry my bag, it's my bag, I should be carrying it and really, Raphale I don't know why you're looking at me like that I'm fine, really I'm good I just feel that I should be..."
Yeah...he'd pretty much been like this since he set foot on the large metal winged thing that really should be plummeting out of the sky like a stone.
Did he mention how much he didn't like to fly?

He didn't realize that there was anything unexpected going on until he heard an exciting chirruping. Looking around, he spotted Kiki, sitting in the middle of the hallway, an intricate pattern of lines surrounding a ferret sitting perched atop a black cat.
That is...a ferret that was perched atop the cat's back. But which was now chirruping excitedly and, with a leap, landed in the middle of the carefully drawn symbols and scampered across the floor toward Aziraphale.

Her mind automatically dove into these latter proceedures, even as she lunged forward to grab the ferret, crying, "Pogo, no! Don't leave the-"
That was when the four furry clawed feet hit the powder, scattering it wildly as Pogo darted to greet his beloved but recently oft-absent master, chittering with elation, pouncing on him with glee.

"Of course, Kiki." He sighed softly, reached for Pogo...paused...reached again...paused..."Oh for crying out..."
Gritting his teeth he reached down and carefully scooped up the little ferret, carrying him tucked in close to his body as he also balanced the tea tray with the remaining two mugs and the plate of cookies.
"What can I help you with Kiki?" Wilson offered as he moved towards the more comfortable space of the library.

But in the meantime, the little creature curled up quietly in a ball, snuggled against the young doctor's chest, and feeling terribly undignified. Although, also, rather enjoying the whole warm snuggly thing.

There was a quite *ting-ting* as the clock chimed. "Although," she added, "you might want to call Phoebe or Michael in the morning, since I don't think either Aziraphale or I are going to be opening the Tea Leaf on Monday!"

"Jiji, tell them it's all right, just call the Leaf in the morning and tell them I won't be in. I dare say they've got used to opening without me lately."
There was a sad undertone to soft chirruping, and he stretched out a little so that his nose was resting up against Wilson's shirt.
