Oh, MTYG decisions. Do I pretend to rec my own story to throw people trying to guess off the trail, or do I not pretend to rec it, to throw those off who think I will do the first option?
The Boyband Spirit
This was lovely. So many of my favorite things. There's coming out, there's open marriages, there's established Howie/Kevin, there's commentary on House of Carters as televised family therapy, there's epic Nick/Chris where Chris makes decisions based on fortune cookies. AND it's almost 10,000 words long.
Tooth and Claw
Newly divorced Brian gets drunk in Vegas and decides to marry AJ because he misses wearing his wedding ring. AJ is sober, but he's secretly in love with Brian, so he goes along with it. UNREQUITED LOVE AND FAKE MARRIAGE ENSUES. (This was written for me, in case it wasn't obvious from that last sentence.)
It Stops Bullets
Justin plays Batman because he has to prove something to Lance. At least I think that's what's happening. Justin's a cocky, enigmatic little bastard, and that's why I secretly love him.
Sing This Song With Me
Justin/Chris with an edge to it that I REALLY LIKED. Plus I'm a little bit jealous of how well-written it is.
Five Times Howie Didn't Lose It
This is like a checklist of things I love in popslash. Howie/Kevin, hurt/comfort, open marriages, making out in hot tubs, and Kevin sticking his hand down someone's pants.
Grand Exit
BANK HEIST FIC. Nick Carter has attitude, a hot, criminal mastermind boyfriend and they rob banks together. Need I say more?
