Not that I ever feel the need to explain myself to anybody, or that I honestly care what other people think of me unless they're important to me. And anyone that's important wouldn't judge me on something so trivial as a political viewpoint....however ( Read more... )

Well, I voted differently than you did, but I know you're not racist ;p I'm in a little different position than you are since Obama is my US Senator and was state Senator before that. I hadn't heard of him before he rain for the US Senate, but one thing that came through in that primary was that he worked well on both sides of the aisle. If you know anything about Illinois politics, that says a lot. There were, in fact, some Republicans who endorsed him in that race, who spoke well of his ability to get people to work together. I do think he made a bone-headed decision choosing Biden for running mate, but we'll see how things are going forward.

My concerns with McCain were largely related to his temper and his choice of running mate.
