Vacation post 1

Jul 10, 2010 12:55

It all started a week before my vacations started; when the lights on my JEEP wouldn’t shut down even after I turned off the car and removed my keys from the ignition. I checked my light switch, my high beam switch, my head beam relay and everything was working properly. The only way I could shut off my lights were to remove the main fuse under my hood. After many researches on the internet, I finally found the problem… It was a box relay that was installed because of Canadian’s laws. It is a box that light up automatically the day beam as soon as you start the car. That box (relay) is hidden under the fuse box under the hood. Now that I unplugged this box, everything is back to normal.

I was so happy to have been able to fix that problem without having to take any money out of the already low budget I had put aside for my vacations. A few days later, it was my blower fan that suddenly died on me. Again, I checked the fuses and the relay but everything was normal. It is when I started to check if the power was going to the fan that I accidentally fixed the problem; It was a loose contact in one of the connection. Again, I was really happy to be able to fix the problem with no cost.

Sadly, it seemed that life wasn’t ready to let my mind go at ease before this vacation since the day prior to my departure, my fan selector (the control taht let me to choose where I want the air to be directed) refused to work anymore, leaving my air exit on defrost only. Then again, we found the problem as I was doing my oil change and filling my A\C unit… It was a broke vacuum hose which we temporarily fixed (it works most of the time but it sometimes still gives me some issues).

But all is well enough now.

We left Thursday morning to head up to CT to bring some most wanted Canadian chocolate to some good friends and we continued our trip up to RI where we met Gary and Ryan, two wonderful men. Their relation is not quite yet defined but I sure hope that they’ll be able to find a way to be together for a long time; they make a very nice couple.

The welcoming was overwhelming. We talk for a bit and we compared our toys (for more info, see the BDSM filtered post). Since we arrived a bit late (around 7H30PM) and also because we went to bed early, everyone being tired, not much was really said or done that day.

The next morning, breakfast was offered to us then we watched some animal programs until Gary came back from work at noon. For lunch, they invited us to a very good restaurant on the marina; the salad I chose was simply delicious and the dressing was very delicate (made of balsamic vinegar). We came back home and played a bit then we stop to prepare supper. For supper, they grilled us some Bradwurst and hamburgers. We ate outside in their little yard and chatted some more about life and friends. We finished the night with some more playing. Again, we went to bed early and woke up early the next morning.

Me and Gary being morning birds, we used the time while the pups were sleeping to discuss more seriously about relationships and politics. I don’t know if it is because we both have experience in the army but our views about life and the society are very similar. The pups woke up and we watch some tennis before we played yet again. While we were all busy, Gary prepared a plate (cold meat, cheese, cheese fingers, crudities, cracker and bread) and we all ate while watching the soccer game. When the USA finally lost, we went to eat pizza and ice cream. The ice cream was out of this world. It was from an old local ice cream factory and the taste was better then any ice cream I had to this day.

We went back home and played more. We went to bed early and the next morning we said our goodbye to Ryan as he was leaving for work. I loaded the car as Tim and Gary chatted and too soon, we were also saying our goodbyes to Gary. I am sure that we will see them again (us visiting them or them visiting us). They are truly very nice people and I am glad that our path crosses. You know that you had good time and that you were with nice people when you feel that ping in your stomach leaving them. Even if we just only met them, I am certain that we already are friends and that is always a very nice feeling.

So leaving there a bit sad, our good humor gained on us rapidly as we were heading yet again to some very good friends. I was so happy to meet them properly this time (since when we dropped by on our way to Gary and Ryan, I was a bit on the run). Here again, just the warm and heartfelt welcoming if proof that you are privileged to know such nice people. There is a wonderful energy when you enter a home built on love and sharing that no luxury can rival with.

We were not even in that we were attacked by a very enthusiastic Sabre (teeth) ;)

After chatting about work and life, we went to eat at a very nice Italian restaurant where the olive oil was delicious, the bruchettas exquisite and the Spaghetti Primavera simply out of this world and that has nothing to compare to the great company. Accompanying my mate and I was Bear, Princess, Sero and Zero. The mood was light and joyful and the meal was shared like any meal should be, with love. We not only fed our body but also our soul.

We came back and watch some TV (Futurama and the Fantastic Mister Fox) while bear somehow got me to rub his back. I was so tired that I couldn’t go on for quite as long as I would have wished; I even fell asleep on my mate while watching the Fantastic Mister Fox. Before going to bed, we said our goodbyes to Zero and to Sero. I wish I had used this occasion to learn a bit more about them.

Me and bear we shared some of the photos we were proud of and to bed, separately ;P, we went.

Today I woke up a bit early and my mate is still in bed recuperating from the last few days. Me,I am here with princess and Sabre, and since Sabre is now taking her nap (after I played with her some), we are using this time to catch up with our computer businesses (her on the web and me writing my journal). If my vacations continue like it started, I will surely come back with the PVD but it would be well worth it.
