Vacation post 3

Jul 10, 2010 13:00

Tuesday, we hit the road early morning and arrived at Fox place earlier than we expected. Even then, the welcome was heartfelt. He showed me all the improvements that he did on his property and told me his many projects in the process (BTW, you should see his new Fox wind vain). Waiting for Soma to show up, he split his time between work and entertaining us. I feel so relax around him.

So we ended up practicing disc golf on his little course. My mate lost one Frisbee in a pound and Fox lost his favorite Frisbee in the bush. Me I didn’t loose any of my Frisbees but my playing was lame at best. So after some fun, we went to the grocery store to buy the missing ingredients for the supper they would cook for us that night.

We came back and Fox and I went to retrieve the lost Frisbees while my mate was practicing his throwing technique. First we fought our way through vines, thorns and poison Ivy and then we had a boat ride and retrieved the one lost in the pond. Since we still were without words from Soma, we decided to go to play a real game of disc golf but we first set the trap for the Fantastic Mr Fox that is feasting upon Lupinefox chicken flock.

We finally met Soma at the golf course where he surprised us with two copies of my favorite graphic novel “Cruelty”

We played the course and had a lot of fun even when searching the forest for our lost Frisbees.

Before coming back home, we stopped by Bethlehem where the old steel factory is always quite an eerie but somewhat fascinating sight which I hope I could just have a full day and full access to photograph. We walk the town which has some nice old architectures and a few interesting shops of which the “chocolate factory” is not one of them :p. My experience there was nothing memorable at all; unlike the oil and vinegar shop.

So we came back and ate the tasteful chili our guests cooked for us in the company of Skippy. Lupine showed us the wonderful artwork he got from AC and Skippy made us laugh when he related his unexpected bidding experience result (also at AC).

Soma showed us his little room which is now almost finished. It is there that we planned our next day excursions.

The evening ended up with an exchange of our favorite you tubes video and web sites.

I can’t wait for tomorrow to come. Only one hope now…may these vacations end the same way they began.
