*Gentle Hugs* I'm proud of you. I wish you all the best in your continuing to get better, in your beating of the demon. I'm not about in London as often as I'd like to be, but if you ever want to meet up for a non-alcoholic drink let me know. You're welcome up to Cambridge anytime; we have myriad cafes. :-)

Yes - that's exactly it. The previous two comments imply that this reads as a confession of a cycle failure in a battle against alcoholism (and; re-reading it, I can understand why). That's not what I'm driving at - and I don't meant to belittle anyone else's struggle by implying that it is.

This is quite simply the first time that I've really considered the damaging effects that alcohol has on my life, particularly my career and relationships.
