yay for new layout, boo to patriots
As you can see, i have a new layout and an icon now, thanks to genericpunkgrrl. Ministry is one of my favorite bands. They sound awesome, and their lyrics are genius. Bonus points to whoever can figure out what song lyrics i took for the taglines.
So the patriots won again. We hear all the crap about how theyre the new dynasty. Bla bla fucking bla. I cant stand this team. New England owes it all to the jets and mo lewis for everything theyve had in the last four years. Flash back to September 23, 2001. Jets are playing the Patriots in Foxboro. Patriots are losing in the 4th quarter. Quarterback Drew Bledsoe and the patriots offense take the field. Due to a missed block, Jets linebacker Mo Lewis has an unimpeded path and clobbers Bledsoe with a vicious, but legal hit. Bledsoe is injured badly. The neck/chest strain that he suffers puts him out for the game and most of the season. Team doctors later compare the injury to something that they see more often in car accidents than football. With Bledsoe out, the patriots turn to little used second year backup qb Tom Brady. Patriots lose the game to the jets to fall to 0-2. The rest is history.
Three super Bowl victories later, we hear a lot of junk about how Brady is just as good as Joe Montana. Im sick of hearing it. Hes good, ok. He won 3 super bowls. good for him. Two SB mvp awards, also good. Before we put him in the hall of fame, realize that hes only been around for five years, and he hasnt done shit in the regular season. His stats are not that great. Theyre not bad either, but not Hall of Fame caliber yet. Lets see him win a season MVP award and keep up this consistency for a few more years, then well talk Canton.
You would think Bill Belichek was the second coming of Jesus from how these football talking heads on ESPN talk about him. Hes a good coach, ok. The whole teams arrogance drives me insane. Its a little hippocritical of Patriots fans to be so damn cocky since these are the exact same people who have been whining about the yankees for three generations. Bill Belichek also dresses for games like I dress on a daily basis. In every other sport (except baseball where the coaches where the same uniforms as the players. Glad other sports dont have that. I sure dont wanna see Bob Knight in a basketball uniform), coaches dress up in at least a sweatervest or a shirt/tie. Maybe even a few armani suits in the NBA. Thats a little extreme, but Billy boy wears the same hoodie for 4 games much like how i wear the same hoodie for 4-5 days in a row during the winter. Bill, is it that difficult to at least wear a nice sweater or something for the game? Its the super bowl for chrissakes. Try to turn up the class just a little bit.
I know most people that read this dont care about football, but did the Belichek stuff get a chuckle at least?
New England has enough championships for the next 50 years. Dont get me wrong, i hate the yankees too, but after this game and Seton Hall losing to BC yesterday (another overrated joke of an elite team), Ive OD'd on boston for now.
In other news, Qxt's is still awesome. Went there again last night and had a good time once again. The trip was smoother this week since we actually made the bus this time, and Craig was there to drive us back.
Do you know how encouraging it is to hear somebody say to you that theyre attracted to the geeky look and that glasses turn them on? Im not being sarcastic for once. When everybody tells me how much better id look without my glasses, hearing that somebody actually likes them among other things really makes my night.
