lets see, things are going pretty alright. im even thinking about staying in portland for an extra month, but i feel this feeling may be fleeting. i have a renewed feeling of hope in the individuals of portland, as people leave people than come. the only thing that makes this process annoying is the fact that all the bright eyed new comers are

I dont know this guy and Im just making inferences through what you've said in this post but I'd assume that he's upset because he cares for you and he cares for his family and he wants to be able to share the things he cares about most with the person he cares for. Instead of thinking that family time is uncomfortable think about your friends time. You have a friends-family. Your real family sucked so you built a new family of friends. So when you spend time with HIS family try and imagine them as your own friends-family that you have built yourself. Maybe it'll be easier to get comfortable? I dunno, just some food for thought.

i STILL feel weird hanging out with chris's family after 3 years.
