Vonda N. McIntyre was the third woman to receive a Hugo award (in 1978, for her novel Dreamsnake.) She passed away on April 1st of this year at age 70, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

Back from Florida, where we sadly picked the wrong days to go to Disney (Brrrr!), ate way too much food, and tried our best to visit all our old friends (tired now!). I finally caught up last night, and I'm enjoying a lot of it, but ( is it just me, or... )

Friends, I have been reading SPN fic since 2005. I wholeheartedly believe that SPN fandom contains the best overall calibre of fanfic amongst many shiny fandoms I've inhabited. And tonight, I read a new story that is probably in my top 5-10 of SPN stories I've ever read:
