Ok, so I don't buy Star or People. I don't really feel the need to live vicariously through some psychotic celebs life of alcoholism, depression, drug addiction, infidelity, coming out of the closet, in the closet anorexia or the ever so popular "what the stars look like without makeup" or " ewww, look at the cellulite on your favorite celebs ass ( Read more... )

it was creepy enough that it still bears repeating/reflecting on... how much of a creep-o spaz is that guy, anyway?

i loved people magazine as a kid, and constantly sent harrassing letters to the editor congratulating them on their misguided celebration of celebity excess, as well as their half-witted ADHD treatment of actual serious topics...after years of writing them, they finally published a letter when i was 15...and those bastards totally paraphrased it, leaving behind nothing of merit, w/ the remaining snippets existing to make me look like the simpleton. assholes. stopped reading it around then.

They would probably paraphrase me as saying "Ummmm...yeah."

YAY! Christmas Dorks Unite!
And among my favorites are...

Santa Baby~Eartha Kitt (yeah baby)
Baby, It's Cold Outside~Bing Crosby and Doris Day
Nature Boy~both Nat King Cole and David Bowie versions
Same Old Lang Syne~Dan Fogleberg (yes, extreme dorkage factor)
Christmas in Hollis~Run DMC (ummm, yeah)

and virtually any Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby or other classic old school holiday hymns :)

I will absolutely be posting my Extreme Christmas Makeover pics. Yippee!
I have the tree ready for trimming, better hop to it, eh?
Can't stand putting the lights on...what a hassle, poo.

oh, yeah and #3 is not necessarily full of "christmas" imagery, but for some reason it is a frequent play on the holiday radio channels.
When I was in NY in December of '03,in the subway, an older black man was sitting on the subway bench and was singing Nature Boy with the most amazing voice. It echoed throughout the subway tunnels and was absolutely beautiful and touching. I was so moved, I melted and actually cried. I am a sentimental schmuck.

Oh, did I say I listen to Christmas tunes periodically throughout the year? Even when it's 150 degrees and the beach is calling, i'm listening to "Baby, It's Cold Outside". Do you think that's a problem?
