Amazing Grace

So, I went to see Amazing Grace this afternoon as I didn't think it would be a film of wider interest. I expect I'm correct on that score, but I would still encoruage anyone who enjoys a good historical film or biopic to give it a try - it's an earnest, emotional, and mostly accurate portrait of William Wilberforce and the abolition movement in ( Read more... )

Why, thank you! It's one for my favourites, made for me by triskellian to my request. I love Pellew, and his character really made the Hornblower series for me. Not to metnion that Robert Lindsay gives such a fine performance - I'm lucky to have tickets to see him in The Entertainer at the Old Vic this week. And of course the sentiment is so useful in so many situations!

Oooh. I watched it the other day and you're totally right. Wilberforce/Pitt the Younger = OTP! Heee.

Isn't it cute? Especially since the female love interest for Wilberforce was clearly just a device to allow for flashbacks, and Pitt the Younger didn't even have one. I'm very tempted to write some fic for them.
