I don't understand why some people are avid fans of their local footy team. Although, I can understand why some people are avid fans when it comes the World Cup:
Each team of 15 represents the very best, most skilled players of each country. You are then pitting the best of the best of one country against the best of the best of another. The games are therefore truly world class. The games become full of drama and tension to the extremes. The event influences a nation's hangovers for a whole month.
All because they kick a small ball around on grass.
