Icon Tutorial #4
Coloring tut as requested by _sgtpeppers and falanyel_86. :)
We'll start with this this cap of Grey's Anatomy from Striped Wall.
Depending on the quality of the cap, I always like to use the smudge tool and smooth out the image first.
01. Duplicate layer and set to screen.
02. I know I said we won't be using the Curves Tool but it's just to brighten up the icon. Go to Curves set to Soft Light, click somewhere in the middle and move the dot up until you get what you want.
Result:
03. Color Fill Layer #00BAFF set to Soft Light
04. Color Fill Layer #FF7E00 set to Soft Light
05. Color Fill Layer #FEFFA4 set to Color Burn 55%
06. Color Fill Layer #FFC674 set to Soft Light 48%
07. Duplicate the previous Curves Layer again and set it to 55%
Should look something like this:
And your done!
