Tonight has been rather strange. I got my first customer complaint at work today! =D Here are the reasons for the complaint:

1. A couple nights ago the customer came up to me at the hand off bar and asked if she had to wait in line for water. I said, "Yes." And, umm, that's all.
2. Today she approached the hand off bar again and stood there because ( Read more... )

Well my ex's roommate moved out during winter break, I think the RAs can come in to double check if your roommate had vacated completely and also to make sure nothing is on that vacated room's side. Usually though they are supposed to put up a notice on the bed/desk/closet informing you (that is, you, Raquel) to not use that side because your new roommate will be coming in any day now.

But usually if a roommate leaves in the middle of the semester I am sure they won't put anyone in there =/ Last semester my ex's other roommate moved out in October and no one was put in till January. But who knows. I wouldn't use that space though, it might tick off your new roomie :)

The thing is that NO ONE has said anything to me about a new roommate. No RA has talked about any of it to me at all, so that's why I thought it was weird that they'd just come in to my room like that. And since someone resides here (me!), I think they have to notify me of this kind of thing. =/

My friend who lived in this room last year got a new roommate when her other one left, but she left within like the first two weeks, not a month and a half into the semester (>.<)

yeah but you kinda sign away your rights to privacy when you sign up for calstate housing. i think RAs can enter your room without you knowing if they need to do something like checking to see if your roomie moves out, same as your schools maintenance crew can enter your room without you present to fix something. they should however have left a note saying they were there so talk to your RA about it.

at least they didnt go through your stuff. just moved the stuff on her side back to your side.

Seconding this...but I think it was probably custodial staff that came in. Here, your roommate can't leave until they've verified that she's 100% out - however when someone vacates, the custodians have to come in and clean that side. Your RA should have notified you of that, but we all know who your RA is, so...

Ok, enough of Kat Deerfield, CSULB Housing Expert. Ha.
