IC Information:
Name: Hiei
Fandom: Yu Yu Hakusho
Timeline: End Series
Age: 15-17 (I usually play at about 16 he looks like a kid I know, but he's actually close to one hundred years of age)
Appearance: Standing roughly close to five feet, Hiei is often mistaken for a twelve year old or a child. Yes, no one would believe he was close to a hundred years old, much les fifteen or sixteen, but his physical appearance only shrouds his true power. As said, his quite short, and slenderly built. He has build up muscles when he is without his cloak or shirt. His eyes are red, like the colour of blood and his hair is raven black, with a white star burst like design in the front. Often, he has a bandana or headband on to shield his third eye, known as the Jagan. He usually dresses in black and only black, with a white scarf and combat boots. His sword is hidden somewhere in his cloak, that covers most of his form. At times, Hiei can be seen wearing shades of red or blue but that's pretty much it. Most the time it's black. He has a normal shade of peachy coloured skin not too dark and not too light.
Abilities:
Physically Enhanced Abilities: Hiei possesses many abilities. His most known is his ability to move at the speed of light, perhaps even faster. He is quick on his feet, and even demon eyes are hard to see when he moves. This ability also allows him to be quick to make a sword move, and often getting good strikes at the enemy with many quick pace slashes with his trademark Katana. His speed amplifies his fighting movements so that they seem quite effortless, yet not.
Sword Play: Hiei is a sword master beyond belief. He excels in slashing and cutting, swift strikes and quick strikes. He wastes no time when he attacks. With speed to amplify his sword movements, he becomes almost completely invincible, but even that has a limit but he can last for a long period of time with it. Hiei has been using a sword at a very young age as seen in the anime, where he slashed up many demons that were in his way. Even with a small form, he is able to swing a sword effortlessly.
The Jagan Eye:His other ability is his implanted Jagan Eye. It is a third eye, also known as the evil eye. It was implanted in him when he was searching for his lost teardrop and his twin, Yukina. The Jagan allows him to manipulate level E humans and Level E demons. He can use them to his advantages as well as read open minds unless there is a barrier or something that is inflicted towards him, so he cannot read their minds. The Jagan is often used to lure and assist in summoning the Dragons.
Jao Ensatsu Rengoku Shou: Or The Blaze-Murdering Purgatory Scorch, a move that summons the lesser 'mundane,' flame of the Ningenkai into one or both of his fists added with his inhuman speed it creates a very faster and unbelievable close range attack that could strike multiple times
Jao Ensatsu Ken: Or The Tyrant King's Blaze-Murdering Sword, an attack that he lures the dark flames of Reikai using his demon energy again and channels it into his sword instead of releasing them completely, making it quite dangerous for the smaller youkai and his body. He has a bit of distaste for this attack because of its close relation to Kuwabara's Rei Ken. Though, as time passes, he is able to manifest the energy into a sword like Kuwabara, but there are differences in Kuwabara's Rei Ken and Hiei's Jao Ensatsu Ken.
Jao Ensatsu Koukuryuuha Or The Tyrant King's Blaze-Murdering Black Dragon Wave, and it involves Hiei creating a fire dragon from the demon world using his energy as a lure the flames to him and released in the direction of his target or enemy. The dragon at first cannot be controlled directly once released. He learns later, however how to absorb the dragon once it is stopped and thrown back at him. It leaves him in a temporary state in which he could access incredible power. As the series continues, he is able to summon the dragon without burning his arm and through the events prior to the Makai Bujutsukai, Hiei is seen to be able to summon multiple dragons at once to defeat high level A class demons that Mukuro sent at him.
The Koukuryuuha technique is known to be one of the strongest attacks in the Yu Yu Hakusho World.
Others: He also has the ability to mask his own youki that allows him to not be found by any one of his companions or anyone in particular unless he is found. Even tracking devices, he could confuse with his own energy and lead people off.
Personality:
Hiei is commonly known for his coldness and heartlessness. He is one that doesn't give much care for others and only has his ambitions in priority. He often acts recklessly on the emotionless side. At the beginning of the story, he is quite like a sadistic demon seeking out the treasures for his own end. He even went to retrieve the weapons that were returned to spirit world by taking hostage and luring out Yusuke. As he joins the Tentai, he becomes a bit more open, though he doesn't admit to many people, he does care for his companions and teammates. He hates to show his weaknesses, because he believes they hindered to his ability to fight as well as it can cause him to be blackmailed. He keeps everyone at a sort distance.
His loyalty to his companions can be questioned sometimes, but in truth the fire apparition is able to keep a good loyalty between his companions, despite the many rude remarks and things that are done. It is obvious in the series that Yukina is a very important person to him. He is her brother as she is his sister they were twins. She was his only biological family alive. He is protective of her and would kill if it were necessary to protect her. He doesn’t take lightly to Yukina being exposed to danger, like when he almost killed Tarukane because of the fact that he kidnapped Yukina to provide him with his riches. He had almost killed the women of the Koorime Island in revenge for his disposal into the world below.
He decides not to kill them, because they were already dead inside, as he could see. He found out about Yukina from there and became obsessed in finding her afterwards. Despite his heartlessness and coldness, as well as his rude nature, Hiei could possibly get along with some people, though he shows a great dislike for humans, and only tolerated a few. He doesn't speak a lot, often anti-social and distant, but the one he speaks to most is Kurama, whom he probably knew the longest. Kurama is an important companion to him, and he bears most of his loyalty to the fox, despite the fact that Kurama does tease him every so often or gets on his bad side. Hiei probably sees Kurama as a friend, but won’t willingly admit that he sees the fox as such.
Next in line is Yusuke. Hiei doesn’t hate Yusuke, even though the detective soiled his plans. Hiei sort of respects Yusuke and often makes cold remarks to him, as well as he does see Yuusuke as a loyal companion and perhaps a friend, especially when he was killed by Sensui and Hiei goes after him along with Kurama and Kuwabara to the Makai to take revenge for the dead Yusuke. Hiei may have shown little care in Yusuke’s existence, but he indeed does care, and shows it every now and then through actions. He often never speaks what’s on his mind. Kuwabara is an important companion to him as well. Though, he may hate Kuwabara for having his hands all over Yukina and possible death threatened the boy many times, in his mind, Kuwabara is loyal and despite their own insults towards each other, Hiei somewhat respects him to some consent.
Mukuro is probably another person he has come in contact with and kept a good relationship with, at least on his terms. She was the one that sent him an invitation in which accepted to be her new right hand. When coming there, Hiei defeats a whole lot of A class and possible even some S Class demons summoning multiple Black Dragons. In his fight with Shigure, he was able to win, but defeated at the same time. Mukuro resurrected him through a machine that gave little information with. He tags along with her many times to check on Yomi and bears some loyalty to her. They were quite similar yet not at the same time.
He does speak every so often, only with information to insult, and agree to terms, and such like that. His remarks are often blunt and straightforward, never fragmented or hinting at something. He is quite anti-social and has an aura that deflects people away from him. Hiei does hate humans with every bone in his body, but soon develops a better respect for them in the later future. His reasons for hating humans are not exactly stated, but it probably goes along the lines of how fragile and short a human life is, and how they are quite weak and useless in his eyes. Hiei often looks down on Kuwabara because of the fact that he is human.
History:
Hiei was born on the floating Iceland in the Makai, known to have only females, and the female youkais hearts were cold as ice, thus why they live in the cold. He was born a cursed child, a half fire and a half Koorime. The villagers seeing that he is a cursed child, decides to throw him over the island to the world below. The reason for his cursed being, they sealed him in talismans and strange writings to keep his power concealed in the straps. His mother, Hina had begged the elders not to throw her child over the floating island, with tears spilled, and tear gems could be seen. In the end Hiei was thrown over the island, and given the very tear gem his mother cried when he was born. The village elders ushered a dear friend of Hina's, Ruri had cast the young infant over the Floating Koorime Country, and whispered that she would wait for the boy's revenge.
Through those times, a bunch of Makai bandits, a group of youkai mercenaries it seems, that they raised him and taught him how to kill, found him. Though through the passing of time, the bandits couldn't stand his attitude and shunned him from the very group that was the closest thing to family. Hiei then wandered alone in the Makai and killed as many as he could that was in his way, the tear gem was visible, as he wore it on his neck. He fought more and more youkais, and becoming stronger and faster. In one of his battles Hiei had lost his tear gem, while fighting a youkai near a cliff, the youkai cut off the gem and it fell into the river below the cliff. Now, though, Hiei had two objectives: find his tear gem, and the Ice Nation that tossed him over Makai to die.
Hiei found out that it was impossible to find either now since he had lost his tear gem. He was eager to find what was his, and sought out the man who can implant the third eye, and is also known as the evil eye. He went to find a man by the name of Shigure. Once he had found the man, he requested the implantation of the Jagan. At first Shigure had denied him, but for a price for implanting the eye, he were to tell the man his story, his reason for the implantation. Hiei agreed. Shigure said the operation would be dangerous, and painful. In the process the pain would be agonizing, and his power that he gained throughout the years would be decreased. Hiei was willing to do that to find the two things most important to him. Shigure also gave a proposal, even if Hiei would find his twin, he wasn't allowed to tell her that he was her brother, or unpleasant things could happen. The boy said that he had no intention of telling his twin anyways. Agreeing to that, the fire youkai went through the painful surgery, and the pain was so agonizing, he would let out his own ear-shattering scream. When the operation was done, he had lost almost all of his youkai power. The operation was successful nonetheless. Shigure asked the Koorime to stay for another day and teach him some of his Swaggerer's techniques. It was a sort of like away to help Hiei defend himself during the time that he was too weak to fight other youkais. From there, Hiei set out and searched with little power her had, but gained something more valuable, the Jagan.
Now given a new power, Hiei was capable of finding the very Koorime Country that had abandoned him and condemned on his death. When he reached the country, high about the Makai lands, the Country had become a ghost town, since no one dare speak to him. The Cursed Koorime was a feared fire youkai, and he would continue to walk along the ghost country, and found Ruri. Ruri did not know who Hiei was at first, but not until he started asking questions about the forbidden infant that was cast out of the Country. Ruri led the boy to the tomb of Hina, his mother, and explained to the fire youkai that she had committed suicide after the loss of her son. Ruri told the Fire youkai that the Forbidden child's sister; Yukina had left the Koorime Country to search for her lost twin brother, hoping that he was alive. When he found out more about his sister, he was obligated to find her, and after he had started to walk away from Ruri, saying nothing, but then the woman realized whom Hiei really was, and fell down on her knees and begged for forgiveness. He had no intention of killing her, and he soon found that the hearts of the Koorime's here were as cold as the snow that fell on their country. He left, without the bother to kill her.
His search for his twin sister had become a more important objective than it was before. On his search for his sister, Yukina, the fire youkai had reached the Ningenkai (Human Realm). Upon his search, he had met up with a youkai who had taken human form. He was called Kurama. They clashed weapons and leaving Hiei injured, Kurama tended to his wounds. In the end the fight was a misunderstanding. Not long after their meeting, Hiei had teamed up with Kurama and another youkai by the name of Gouki; they raided the volts of Reikai and stole the artifacts of darkness. When in a quarrel, he had met up with Yusuke, for the first time as well. He got involved with the spirit detectives, and soon set out on the first mission, to hunt down and destroy the Four Saint Beasts. Once after that, Hiei had become involved in saving a certain youkai from the grasp of the greedy ningen. That was where he met up with Yukina for the first time, though it was up close, compared to his faint meeting, before when he was afraid to show himself to her. Of course, Yukina had no idea who he was and the Koorime found it easier, at least he was able to watch her and protect her.
He then got involved in the Ankoku Bujutsukai, alongside with Yusuke, Kurama, and Kuwabara. That was when the Koorime also learned and able to control his Jao Ensatsu Ken techniques, and mastering the strongest of the three, the Jao Ensatsu Koukuryuuha. His right arm was rendered useless for part of the tournament, but when he got closer to the fight with Bui, and swallowing [absorbing] the Koukuryuuha, Hiei was able to gain extra speed and strength for a short amount of time. After that, he was hibernating, while they repaired the stadium for the next fight. Upon waking up and asked about how long he slept, Hiei uttered out that won then? He soon learned that the fight was delayed, because of the mass destruction that he had caused using his Koukuryuuha in his fight with Bui. Together the group defeated Sakyou's team and headed home with a great victory. Perhaps, maybe he had learned something about companionship and friendship. Soon, Hiei had grown weary of fighting for the Ningenkai.
A short time after the Ankoku Bujutsukai, Yusuke was kidnapped by three high school students, and they left a note saying that among the people that were taken to that mansion on the hill, Hiei, Kurama, and Kuwabara must be among the group. Hiei refused to join in on it at first, but with the choice of his sentence being cut short and fighting for his freedom, he agreed. In arrogance, he uttered the taboo word in the mansion, allowing his soul to be taken by Yuu Kaitou, a classmate of Kurama's that was give special powers of territory. After given his soul back and saving Yusuke, Koenma came with urgent new, signaling the plan that Sakyou had died with was taken up by someone else, that he was probably rolling in his grave because of that. During that time, Koenma explained to the group about the class of youkais. A's and S Classes were among the strongest. Hiei questioned which class he was classified in by Reikai. Koenma replied with Mid B Class. Being slightly insulted, Hiei dropped out from the mission, claiming the hole to Makai was good for him. That was where he belonged anyway, not with humans. He was not seen for a long time during the search for the psychics and Sensui, a former Reikai Tentai.
He showed himself finally, when Yusuke was escaping the wrath of Hagiri who targeted Yusuke as his territory, so whatever he three at Yusuke, be cars, knives, or house hold items, Yusuke was a moving Target. Hiei saved him from bein shot by Hagiri by sending a sword through his gut. He was intentional to kill him as well. After that Hiei started a fight with Yusuke, and the two tore apart a nearby forest beating the living daylights out of each other with a million punches and kicks until they couldn't punch and kick anymore. Hiei told Yusuke that Ningenkai was starting to smell like Makai. With that he came back to the group as Yusuke predicted, meeting up with the gang at the mouth entrance of the hiding place of Sensui and the hole to Makai. While entering the cave, he and the group were faced with a challenge of Game Master, and had to win the Game that the Game Master proposed. They came out victorious and Yusuke, Hiei, and Kurama, with Mitari entered deeper into the cave. When reaching there, they saw Kuwabara tied together, on a boat, and almost eaten alive by the demons that were trying to get through to the hole.
Kuwabara was finally released, but Kuwabara, Kurama, Hiei and Mitari were stuck in Itsuki's territory, and were forced to watch the fight with Yusuke and Sensui, while Sensui was killing Yusuke off. When Yusuke finally died, Kuwabara was able to cut the territory but it was too late, he was dead. Angered by their companion's death, the group, grew stronger, that included Hiei who surged with his own power leveling up to a powerful A Class. Seeking revenge on Sensui for his friend's death. When they reached Sensui, Kuwabara cut the net that kept the A class and S class demons from entering, and allowed Hiei and Kurama to follow right after. Though, three of them wasn't enough to defeat Sensui, who was considered a very high level human. With their last ounce of energy, the they wanted to destroy Sensui, but almost taken to their own death, Yusuke appears as living, and mentions something about his heart not beating. For some reason, it took a moment of pausing and relief was on Hiei's face as he laughed, rather cheerfully, for the first, and only time in the series. Then after that something new came up.
Then something interesting came up. Hiei had been giving an invitation to return to the Makai. That meant that he had to leave the Ningenkai. Right before he left, however, Yukina confronts him and gives him her tear gem. She asked him a simple favor of finding the fire youkai that was her brother, who had the same one and tell him that his sister was waiting for him.
Though the face that Yukina had showed, Hiei found something else in his heart, and that it was the gem he was looking for. He said some cold things towards his sister, telling her what if her brother died, she would never know. Though finding the ice country and slaying it, Hiei told Yukina to do it herself. The ice maiden shocked by his words, felt sad for a moment, before saying that it was a kind of advice that she would be receiving from an older brother. With that Hiei left for the Makai, knowing that he didn't need to live for anything else, his life was fulfilled to its fullest. When he was on his way to Mukuro's territory, he was confronted with five hundred and possibly more A class youkais. Hiei had used his Koukuryuuha and slain almost half of them, and with that he used his Katana to kill the many as well. Hiei was loosing consciousness fast, and passed out for a short amount of time, before Youkais decided to take advantage of that and attacked him.
He killed them easily with his Katana. Then Mukuro appeared before the cursed Emiko. She said she would give Hiei back what is his, and show her true form behind the tacky clothes and the sheets of paper and spells. The Emiko (Imiko?) had no interest in becoming the woman's right hand man, and he found what he was looking for, Yukina, and the Koorime Island, as well as the gem. He accepted the match anyways. He had never expected to be fighting the very man that had taught him some of his sword skills, as well as giving him the Jagan. The match was very serious. Hiei and the known Doctor that implanted his eye, Shigure fought to the death. In the end Hiei had one, slicing Shigure's head in two horizontally, and he died instantly.
Hiei though, had one missing arm and a large wound in his gut. Mukuro congratulated him for his victory, and Hiei said he welcome death, and passed out. The woman did not want him to die just yet, saying it wasn't his time, stuck him in a machine, to regenerate his strength. She then revealed herself to him fully. After his resurrection, Hiei and Mukuro set out and Hiei found his old comrades, Kurama and Yusuke. Then Yusuke demanded a tournament. Whoever wins this tournament gains total control of the Makai to do as they pleased. It was a one on one match, and Hiei participated in it. In the end he lost, but he put up a good fight against Mukuro. After all the events, Hiei started taking over Mukuro's base and started directing lost Ningens that accidentally stumbled upon Makai back home with their memories erased of ever being there.
