Shūhei was already lying down on top his futon, half asleep when Izuru arrived at his room in the 9th division once he had finished off his paperwork in the 3rd division. He hadn't seen Hisagi since he got back from the most recent mission with Rangiku, and when he inquired about his Senpai's location at the 9th squad, he had been told by an unseated officer that he hadn’t seen Hisagi-Fukutaicho all day, but had heard that Matsumoto-Fukutaicho had him trailing around Seireitei after her.
Izuru knelt down beside Shūhei’s futon and stroked his scarred cheek, "Hey." he asked quietly, "How'd the mission go?"
"Mmm." was the reply he got before Shūhei grabbed his wrist and pulled him down on top of his warm chest.
Izuru pulled the blanket over the top of them and wriggled off Shūhei’s chest and curled up beside him, tucked under Shūhei’s arm. "You didn’t need to carry all that stuff around for Rangiku-san today. I don't like seeing you this tired."
Shūhei grunted and kissed the top of Izuru 's head. "I don’t mind, I need to spend do stuff with her sometime, even if it is carrying boxes around.” He mumbled the last bit frowning, “I don’t want her getting jealous 'cause I’m spending so much time with you." he said smiling and pulling Izuru closer to him.
