I'm paranoid about the sun too. You should try fake tan, it's pretty good even though it makes your hands orange...

I have a weird skin tone but I tan easily and naturally so that's what I'm used to. I'm not a sun-worshipper by any means but since I don't burn I've just allowed myself to tan when I'm in the sun, except for my hands and face. In the summer I use Phytomer bronzer on my face, neck and chest, which is great b/c it's a spray and doesn't turn you orange. I also use a sunscreen and darker foundation with my make-up so even when I am in the sun that part is protected. I was raised to be skin-conscious and have always considered what I do today that will affect how I'll be 20yrs from now. My Dr doesn't think any of my other moles or freckles look unusual so hopefully everything will be ok.

When you do the fake tan, I've found the sprays are better, they seem to apply more evently. Avoid both side of your knees and elbows and bony parts like your clavicle. Scrub your hands right afterwards and it helps you avoid that "I've been digging in the red mud" look.
