Wants and Needs

So here begins yet another long day at Packer. I woke up after about 4 fours of sleep from the last night and half an hour late at that. I tried to hurry to get ready on time, but really just ended up moving slowly and forgetting things like food and shaving. The more I've thought about wanting things, actually, the less I find that I want them. I realize more and more that I really don't need a lot of the things that I've wanted, like new clothes--of course, this came after the period when I 'wanted' toys and 'needed' clothes.

I'm suspicious, however, of wanting not to need. When you think of how similar needs and wants can be, it sounds kind of like wanting not to want. Because what do you really 'need'? Food, clothing, shelter. After that, it's based on what you yourself value. It's subjective. Heck, some people even decide that they don't need food (ascetics), or they don't need clothing (nudists). Some people decide that they don't need to live.
