Bad Choices

Sehun isn’t meant to fall in love, at least not with Kim Jongin, the second year dance major with permanent bed hair.

What Sehun is really meant to do is graduate university with a master’s degree and a pretty girl on his arm- because his parents are still painfully unaware and oblivious of his attraction to men.

And Jongin is not Sehun’s type.

Jongin is sheltered and he keeps to himself, he arrives late to class with his shirt half-tucked and a cup of lukewarm coffee- black, he later informs Sehun in the backseat of his car, because it wakes him up for this tedious lectures.

Jongin is everything Sehun hates in a guy, now that he thinks about it, and he blames the attraction solely on lust. Lust for Jongin’s disheveled hair and heavy-lidded gazes, desire for his shy smiles and protective touches, really, that’s all the attraction- at least that’s what Sehun tries to tell others, and mostly himself.

The pros outweigh the cons with Kim Jongin.

Sehun blames the way Jongin’s v-neck is dipping dangerously low and that awful stature that gives off the “I don’t really care for the world” vibe.

Jongin hands him a cup of tea- because he knows Sehun hates coffee, and that’s another thing Sehun hates: the fact that he remembers. And when they kiss, the taste of bitter coffee and weariness is heavy on Jongin’s tongue. Sehun tries to convince himself that this is a reason to break it off, the fact that Jongin is not willing to end bad habits for someone he supposedly loves- Jongin at least says he does when he’s gripping Sehun’s hair painfully tight and his face is flush. It’s what Sehun tries to convince himself of, and it’s what Sehun fails at. He’s grown used to it, to Jongin calling him at 3am to talk about the most trivial things, to Jongin arriving to class 20 minutes late with lukewarm black coffee, to the taste of regret and things hidden that Jongin has not yet told him of when they kiss. They’ve become an extension of Sehun, a necessity almost. Or a bad habit, his friends say, and old habits die hard.

Sehun agrees on the surface, Jongin is most definitely a bad habit with a gorgeous smile. Underneath really, Sehun can’t let go, because Jongin is his now and he is Jongin’s and as much as he hates this, and everything about him, he can’t let him go.
The very idea of Kim Jongin annoys Sehun to no end, but at the same time he can’t get rid of him.
