Dear Padfoot,
I hope this letter finds you in good health and better spirits (or perhaps vice versa, whichever suits you). As you’re sure to know as Harry’s godfather, tomorrow (July 31) is Harry’s birthday. This will be two birthdays total that I have been allowed to celebrate with my son, and I plan on taking advantage of the event.
I had thought that maybe we could have dinner together, as a family in honor of the occasion. As you should know from your closeness with James, friends are sometimes more family than blood and I had hoped to invite a few of Harry’s friends. Unfortunately, I’m really not sure how to make contact with those who he has taken closest to his heart. I don’t suppose you could lend me a hand in inviting his friends?
It’s really too bad that James isn’t here yet (soon, he’ll come soon) but I am excited nonetheless.
Lots of love!
