Facebook and Macbook

I have new books.

I got a Facebook. Yes, I caved and joined. But I still refuse to join myspace! windbourne is right. Facebook is silly fun. I can't stop adding stupid apps to my profile and filling them in. I gave up adding books, videogames, and albums to their respective "shelf" and "racks". I don't even remember half of what I own. Granted, I'm only ( Read more... )

oh no your HP died?! unbelievable! i feel like they're so reliable. well i hope you can get it fixed and such. my maxtor external crashed on me w/out warning the other day. not sure what happened, but i did a chkdsk and then it started working, but after i got my new ipod, i had to update itunes and itunes wouldn't work w/ my drive (where all my music is...), so i bought a new drive by buffalo and it's awesome, although it's rather big. and i'd better end that runon sentence.

anyway, welcome to facebook! :D

Yeah, I don't get it either. I felt my HP was more stable and just built better than my old Dell desktop, which isn't that old. Maybe I was too rough with it, carrying it around everywhere. Or maybe I didn't give it enough padding in my bag. I don't know what to do because it just won't turn on. I should have backed up all the data. ^^;; But really it's the most recent stuff that I can't get back, unless it was sent through Gmail at some point. Oh well.

On the other hand, how does one save images from the net on a Mac if there's no right click?! >_<;

Malware?! Which ones? *stops adding apps* ^^;; The conditions for adding apps are pretty sketchy to begin with. Why do some of them need to "know who I am and access my info".

Ugh, yeah, my mom hates how expensive the ink is for my dad's HP inkjet. On the other hand, my 10yr old printer was an HP laserjet (that I got refurbished but cheap on ebay) and I only had to buy toner for it twice I think in all that time. My new printer is a Canon. The price for the cartridges seem much more reasonable, but we'll see how long they actually last. -_-;

And you're not dumb; you're so smart! I should just pay you to build me a computer. XD I'll look into OpenOffice and see if it works for the new OS. Thanks!

Ah... Here's a link about the facebook apps:

This is just one of those apps, but there might be more that do the same.

LOL, I'm not smart, if I manage to do something is out of stubbornness more than brain. XDD

Congratulations on the new Mac! I consider it a cult, really. I've been using their iBooks for 10 years.

On the other hand, how does one save images from the net on a Mac if there's no right click?! >_<;

That's an easy one. Click on the picture and drag it to your desktop. For stubborn, embedded ones you can go to "page info" under your Firefox tools menu and click on the 'media" tab. Find the image in the list and click the 'save' button :)

Brilliant! Thanks! While trying to unlearn some PC habits, like pressing Command + X/C/V for cut/copy/paste instead of Ctrl + X/C/V, I discovered that I could "right-click" by holding down control when I clicked on things. And for some reason it's so much faster finding the answers I need under Mac's Help than under Windows. My sister says it's so easy I'll figure it out and to "drag, drag, drag".

She also proclaimed that "macs are so much better." While another friend said macs last forever and that my mom was smart for suggesting it. lol So I believe you when you say it's a cult. XD I'm definitely being convinced, though. I haven't had to delete any "extra" programs that usually come bundled on PCs. And, I think this might be new to Leopard, but the program called Spaces is brilliant! It's particularly useful since this is a much smaller screen than I'm used to, and I tend to open a lot of things at the same time. I'm just having too much fun playing with this thing.
