Money down a hole, but now at least the hole is where the money is, not in my car. Just to thoroughly distort and possibly destroy a turn of phrase. Namely, my car now has all of its windows, and none of them are shattered. A day wasted though. Didn't need to be, but I never quite got up the impetus to really move after the car people came. My dad called me the other day. He was trying to get some file linked from a government server, and wanted to know what this "gopher" thing was.

This made me laugh for a while.

It is 44 degrees out.

My house has no insulation, no heat, and no curtains.

I realize that, yes, this is above freezing, and it isn't going to snow, and blah blah blah I can't hear you, but to hell with it all, I'm cold.

As I didn't learn my lesson the first time this weekend, I thought I would pass along this PSA:

You cannot, repeat cannot take a large swig from a freshly opened bottle of something very carbonated, like, say, champagne or Martinelli's.

The results if you do can be quite spectacular though.

We all went to Vegas.

It's definitely shiny.

I lost at blackjack and won at the slot machines, thus upending my sense of any sort of justice in the universe. Although I suppose actually winning any money in Vegas is against the natural order of things.

Also, the desert between here and there is large, and, well, mostly deserted.
