The early morning specials are partly because people (IE the government and economists) want to generally accurate numbers on Black Friday shoppers. And the specials are sales are such because of the statistics of it being the busiest shopping day of the year. The Short-term specials (5am - noon) is to generate more shopping. Kinda like "Who will have the best deal?" and getting people excited about getting up early to get that special.

I agree that since becoming a Christian Christmas has had a better and more of a meaning. And the free stuff ain't bad either.

I get the business aspect of it, and WHY people do the big deals that day.

But like I said, I think that if you've got good deals, people are going to show up anyway, whether it be 5 am or 9 am. I just don't understand what the big deal is about that four extra hours, because nobody WANTS to be up that early the day after Thanksgiving - everybody just wants to sleep in, but they don't because if they do all of the good stuff will be gone.

115% ricidulous.
