Today was day 9 of 9.
Meaning it was my ninth day in a row working.
I admit to being a wimp . . . I love usually having 2 days out of 7 off. My job almost called me in to pull a twelve hour shift on Sunday so I could turn around and do it again on Monday. Luckily my immediate supervisor told admin that was a bad idea. Probably 'cause he knew I would have laughed manically and then hung up on the person who called.
I have become so spoiled since leaving residency. I chose family medicine because I was trying to stay away from long crazy hours (and I don't have the hands or desire to be a surgeon), but I never realized until this stretch that more than working long hours it was the number of days in a row that kill me.
I just can't wait until flu/cold season is over with so I can go back to a less rigourous schedule.
And hey I have this weekend off.
