I like you ^_^ You explained my sentiments a hell of a lot better than I ever could've (granted, I'm terrible with politics. Rather, I dislike them). Awesome post.

Thank you! I was just sort of ranting... and blowing off steam, but I appreciate that you like my ideas. I am very interested in politics as it relates to financial situations of average Americans. I hate poverty, and while I have no real political power, other than voting and political activism and of course prayer...I do all I can to abolish poverty. People have enough to worry about without constantly having to worry about money.

We are doing fine, well other than economically... medically... er... emotionally... ah... never mind... but money could fix it all. How about you all? I am glad you agree BTW. I wasn't sure anyone would. I am just sick of trying to live on nothing, and feel good about it... I don't feel very happy. My daughter is staying in the library of her college because we can't afford for her to board, and she doesn't have time or money to drive back and forth every day. I am borrowing money from my mom to pay the power bill... and wondering how my husband is going to pay the rest. My tiny weekend business is all I have to support a family of four... and it's good for a little spending money but.... well my customers are poor too... so it's not a gravy train to be sure. Overall I am lucky to have what I do... here in NC a lot of people are out of work, or else under employed. I think much of the rest of the country is the same. I am worried about everyone, not just myself. IDK how long any of us can hang on... so really my political views are ( ... )

"People accuse Obama of redistribution of wealth, but where were they when all our salaries were redistributed, and we lost our jobs?"

Very good point! Where were all the critics when the money was flowing into the pockets of the top 3%? Trickle-down Economics, my ass!

I'd agree with you on most of it, with just a few disagreements of practicality and technical implementation ( ... )

Shoes, hell! If that were the worst of it, it wouldn't be so bad - but we should all be able to earn a decent wage that would allow us to afford shoes made in Italy!

Problem is, we are importing even more basic things than that from the other side of the world. Have you looked at where your canned mushrooms come from recently? I'm in Canada, and I can never find mushrooms from any place closer than India or China. This has been going on for years now, and I say WTF?! I know we can produce mushrooms - fresh ones are available and are at leased produced on the North American continent, but canned ones? Nuh-uh. It's cheaper to close local canneries and import processed veggies from Asia. Such stupidity.

... FFS. >_>

There are edible mushrooms that grow wild in Canada. And across North America. You could probably find out which, with a google search, and start bloody well growing your own. They're mushrooms, after all. They're ruddy well easy to grow. The ONLY reason not to can them locally is lack of canning facilities... Ick. Ick, ick, ick.

"The ONLY reason not to can them locally is lack of canning facilities..."

Exactly! And it pisses me off because it didn't used to be this way. And it isn't just mushrooms, it's tomatoes and pickles and peas and other things that grow just fine up here. I'd even be satisfied if they were from the US or Mexico, but India?, China? SOuth Africa? Spain?

If we're talking about things that don't grow here like leechee fruit or hearts of palm, that's understandable. But jeeez louize! pretty soon North America will stop growing it's own food altogether and we'll be totally at the mercy of a bunch of not-too-stable regimes.

I wish I had what it takes to run, but I'm just one of the broke millions who is lost in this mess. I hope Obama reads my mail... it's the only hope I have of changing things. I did have the ear of John Edwards. I was a supporter when he had only three percent in the poles and I lived on his site. I spent every spare moment posting on his site... and he even took some of my ideas... which he changed around a bit... He would have been VP that time... and it would have been great, but something happened to him in the next four years. He was different by the next election... The first election was about ideas, but the most recent one was all about the money... and could you send him fifty bucks... and then... He lost everything over that woman in the next primary.. some of his ideas... at least a couple of which he got from me, went on the democrat platform, but nothing so radical as the stuff above... except he adapted my idea above about the gay marriage solution into his civil union idea... I remember typing to him, why not call it ( ... )
