Jude did used to be hot a few years ago, but he's not so much anymore. Not only is he less physically attractive, but after all of the real life crap surrounding him, I just have no respect.
I thought that movie was the most depressing thing I'd ever seen, on a related note.
I don't really follow a lot of celebrity gossip but did he sleep with a hooker or get a blow job from a hooker or something like that? ...while he was engaged to Sienna Miller? Yes, that is unattractive but...he owned me in Cold Mountain.
As for the movie itself, it was bleak. However, I really liked the love story. Nicole Kidman was just awesome and I thought Renee Zellwegger was hilarious, stomping around in her little mountain girl way. Plus, Jude brought the pretty. All in all, I liked it
He slept with his kids' nanny while (I believe) engaged to Sienna. If I recall, one of his kids caught him, and that's how it was uncovered. Plus, he's just kinda smarmy in general. Definitely a cad.
But he was definitely hot in "Cold Mountain", "The Talented Mr. Ripley", etc.
I think the wrath of public opinion has prematurely aged him lately.
That was surprisingly hot. Plus, in all the non-winter scenes, he was always sweaty which slays me every time. Really, that was all he had to do - stand there and look broodingly sweaty. Yummy.
No. I've been Jude deprived. I think the only movie of his that I've ever seen is AI: Artificial Intelligence, which I hated. I'm guessing he's sexy in Ripley?
Yes, yes, yesyesyes. He's often a huge jerk in the movie, but then he'll flash this smile, and you totally understand why Matt Damon's character falls for him.
You know, while I was watching, I kept telling myself that it was going to end tragically. So, when it did , I was prepared. ...and I got to see him without his shirt on just before his tragic death scene so, I was in a happy afterglow of Jude lust. I do agree though, quite the bummer ending.
I don't care for that director so I didn't appreciate that movie much. But I really bought Jude Law as a period guy. I thought his performance had a quality that seemed really authentic. I had a little bit of trouble with Nicole Kidman because she's just too old, I'm sorry to say. An unmarried woman of her age in that era would have been a joke of a spinster - and I'm not buying Nicole as 19 or whatever, sorry.
Oh wow. It never even occurred to me that Nicole Kidman was supposed to be a teenager. I thought she was luminous in the movie but no way did she look like a kid.
