Note: I do believe this is the first BSG genfic I have ever written (I specialize in A/R smut). As such girlfriend struggled mightily with it. I hope it lives up somewhat to Mr. Bond's specifications.

It certainly doesn't show you slaved on this, because I absolutely frakking LOVED this piece, and it flows very well. I was a bit surprised when Laura asked for a gun, but your top notch characterization shows again when she opted to give that choice to Cain. Loved "the war is over" line, as well - such poignancy.

Love! Love love Roslin genfic, and kudos for having the courage to step out of your usual boundaries. even if my slashometer went ding! here. *g*

re: slashometer. *sigh* Stephy WHAT am I gonna do with you? ROFL

Thanks, hon. I'm happy you were surprised about the gun. :D As for "the war is over" -- I watched Pegasus about 20 times, trying to get a feel for this fic. And it struck me that Cain was still where Adama had been when Roslin basically talked him out of fighting. She was totally thinking "Oh, no, do I have to go through THIS again?" If it had been Cain instead of Adama Laura had said that to, Laura probably would've been gunned down right there.

Oh, dude! So much love right here. After all that pain, you did excellent. The fact that Madame Prez wasn't scared was really clear. You rock!

The tension was just as palpable here as it was in the episode. You did a masterful job and I bow to your brilliance. For obvious reasons, your characterization of Laura Roslin is the best I've seen and I could see and hear and even smell fear that radiated from Fisk as he finally did what he knew was right.

Thank you so much for saving my poor Helo. ;)

Thank you so much, hon. :) God, I watched that ep so many times something of it was bound to come through. LOL

As for Helo... there's no way in HELL Madame President was going to lose any more civilians after all she's been through to keep them safe. ;)

Heh. I would've jumped up and down and cheered, even though I was reading this at work, had Madame President just spaced the bitch. :P (And why is it I keep trying to write Madama President. O_o)

I did so enjoy beta-ing this. Roslin was your usual impeccable Roslin; Cain was beautifully rendered ... but y'know, I think my favorite line was Fisk's.

“This is insanity,” Fisk said. “All of it. We're supposed to be the good guys.”

Thank you, love. :) I liked Fisk. He felt like an inherently decent man. I hope that's proven on the show.
