Cleaning out the kitchen is like magic

After years of complaining that I needed some easier way to shred cheese than a box grater, I was cleaning out my cabinets today and discovered.... the cheese shredder blade that came with my food processor. Oops. I didn't even know food processors did that. I had no idea what the disc thing was for, when I bought my food processor, years ago. ( Read more... )

Um, that's the best use of fridge space, and the best way of storing spices, I've ever seen.
How did you do it? I might want to try it

via this: http://www.instructables.com/id/Magnetic-Spice-Rack-1/

I used the magnets from K&J that she recommended, and 4 oz tins with screw-top lids from Papermart: http://www.papermart.com/Product%20Pages/Product.aspx?GroupID=14283

I didn't like the clear plastic tops from specialty bottles that she recommended because light degrades spices, and also I was scared of a non-screw top lid.

The system is secure --so far I've opened the freezer about 50 times in an attempt to move these, and the tins don't budge at all.

That looks really cool. It is like petri dishes but suspended on the fridge. It looks like a pretty art piece! I hope you are doing okay. I am sorry I have been out of touch.

Thank you :) And you're fine -- I've been hiding from people.

I have been hiding from people too. And my cousin is coming in the last two weeks of March so lately it has been a combination of "I have no time to see anyone." and "Seeing people seems like so much work." So it is good to know that not all of the not-contact has been due to me being not-available or people hiding.

We should get together when things are a tad less crazy.
