Building My Writing Cottage!

OMG, I was just telling my husband the other day that when I was little I pined for my own cottage in the backyard -- not just a playhouse but a house I could actually "be" in. I still want one -- and now you are getting one. Envy! Can I come over and hang out? I'll bring snacks!

Me, too! And now I have my own little house! ;-) And of course, you can come over! I'm hoping to have a few "tea parties" with friends. I'm putting some Victorian furniture inside as well as a daybed and a desk. It also has one of those electric fireplace hearths in cherry wood you get from Home Depot. Curtains and rugs, too. Of course, it's totally empty at the moment - I have a lot of shopping to do!

When you're ready for one, I'll contact my brother! ;-)

This is so cool! I'm so happy for you to get a place of your own!! I'm sure many wonderful stories will come out of it, and I look forward to reading every single one! =D

Thanks, Joan! It's pretty dang awesome, I am SO blessed! You're a doll for your sweet words. It's going to be Victorian furnishings (I have some that I'm getting re-upholstered that has been sitting forgotten and torn apart for 8 years). And you have NOT updated me on the agent conclusion! Email me! Or maybe I need to catch up on my LJ reading . . . headed over to yours now. xo

Wow, that's great! Is it going to have heat and can you use an air conditioner in the summer? It's going to be wonderful for writing, dreaming, resting, etc. Enjoy!

Thank you, Barbara!!! I put a cherry wood electric fireplace/hearth from Home Depot in for heat. Just plugs right into the wall and is so pretty. Supposed to heat 400 square feet and my room is about 180 so I should be toasty warm. I'm also doing a ceiling fan for the spring and will put a little window AC unit in next summer when it gets hot. :-) It really is a dream come true!

Hi Jessica, I know - it's going to be fantastic to work there. I'm madly shopping - not for Christmas - but to furnish my cottage. ;-)
