Editorial Letters and Planning the Attack!

Hi Everyone!

Hope you're having a lovely summer. I just returned from hubby's family reunion in Arizona where it poured rain, but we had canopies up and just kept on going, eating, talking, and having our very own mini Family Olympics, complete with medals and cheers in celebration of the Summer 2012 world-wide Olympics.

The day before I left town I ( Read more... )

Thanks for sharing this bit of your journey - so exciting! Love to hear how others handle the workload and relish each part of the process (taking Sundays off is a great idea - of course, now when I'm working full-time).

Best of luck on revisions and I look forward to reading your books!!

Hi Kym, and thank you so much! I love reading about other writers process, too. I find it all fascinating how each person works and their editors.

It's nice to see you here and thanks for commenting. I've been scarce on LJ, I mostly blog at www.kimberleygriffithslittle.blogspot.com and I'm on FB every day. :-)

You're teaching, right? Are you still writing? I'm afraid I haven't kept up with all my friends here, but I remember everybody and wonder what they're all doing. And I do see you on Facebook now and then. ;-)

Take care!

Kimberley

I haven't gone on LJ very often either, but want to start blogging more regularly. I wrote a post today in fact, which is how I saw yours. So excited for you! And yes, I'm still writing and hoping for my big break. You are my inspiration. :)

Well, gosh, thanks, Kym. I'm happy to be inspiring someone! So many other writers (like you too!) have helped me along the way.

I'm also glad to hear that you're still writing. Off to check out your post now!

That's super exciting that your book is a lead title. Every time you talk about this book, you just intrigue me all the more. I can't wait to be able to read it.

Wow, thank you! That's so great to hear. It's sure been awhile in the making and publishing. I kept thinking it would happen in 2011 and then 2012, and now it's 2013. Hopefully the timing will be perfect. :-)

2013 will be a crazy busy year. I'll be publishing my 3rd book with Scholastic in April, too. And writing two more books for 2014. Whew!

Hope you're good!

Wow that is a busy year! But it also sounds exciting.

Doing good over here. This year has been my crazy busy year. We moved across the country from NY to CA and are finally starting to feel settled. But we love it out here. I'm also slowly getting back into my writing. It's been so long. I feel so rusty. But I'll get there. :)

Oh, wow, moving clear across the country! Where in CA are you? I was born in San Francisco and grew up in the East Bay Area. That's a huge life change. I'm so glad you're writing again, too. It does feel strange when it's had to take a back seat for awhile, but I hope you get your groove back fast! :-) I've noticed an odd phenomenon though, because every single day feels like overcoming some kind of inertia to get going on the day's writing. It's so easy to put it off and check Facebook. Or make cookies!

Thank you, Jenny! I love your word "glorious" - YES. And us writers do hold on to those tiny snippets of positivity to get us through the other 99% of tough stuff. ;-)

And yikes for you! But you know, we all write the wrong book first in so many way and then rewrite again and again to bring out the real book. Good luck to you!!!

the healing spell anonymous August 27 2013, 15:25:47 UTC
hi , i just got done reading "the healing spell". awesome story. very touching. i couldn't believe it was over. i wish there was a sequel or something. i'd like to know how mamma woke up, how strong the love between mamma and livie grew, and just some happy or sad moments that happened after mamma woke up. it's sad to know that there is no part 2 to "the healing spell". unless it's somewhere and i just don't know about it. anyway it was an awesome book.

Thank you SO much for this lovely comment about The Healing Spell. I'm so thrilled you loved it.

I don't have an exact sequel, but my next book CIRCLE OF SECRETS is about Miz Mirage, the traiteur, who lives in the swamp and her daughter, Shelby Jayne. It's another touching story with a lot of danger, a drowning, and a ghost - and there is a little something about Livie and her Mamma at the end of CIRCLE OF SECRETS that you will probably like! Hope you get a chance to read it! Let me know. You can always email me directly at kglittle at msn.com

You can see CIRCLE OF SECRETS and my brand new book WHEN THE BUTTERFLIES CAME here: http://www.amazon.com/Kimberley-Griffiths-Little/e/B000APMZIU/ref=ntt_athr_dp_pel_pop_1
